Go time.

Well, shit, it's 3am. Definatly cannot sleep.

We drive to portland in... 3 hours. Woohoo!
My flight leaves at 1:20. lufthansa!

But, before we head to the airport we have to stop at Schroeder's house.

I have been planning this backpacking trip for weeks and somehow forgot about the whole "backpack" part.
Living out of my backpack for weeks would not have worked out so well.
Luckily for me, Schroeder has a nice Europe ready backpack for me to use.
THANKS BUD!!!

I want to be... A Couch Surfer?

Look out world. I'm looking to make friends and travel cheep!!!!

To meet new people and extend my budget as far as possible, couchsurfer.com is where it is at!!!
Anywhere you want to go, you will find someone with open arms, an open couch and a free meal. (or so I am told).

Having a set budget, one of the best ways to extend my stay is to live on bread and water. The next obvious cash saver would be to not have to pay for a place to stay... (and get a free meal)

Obviously hostels will be involved for a good part of the trip, getting to know other travellers and meeting people on the move, but assuming that 5 weeks of travel will have worn me out. Getting to slow down a bit and visit with a more local crowd should be a nice transition...

I can't wait to meet so many awesome and interesting people!

WOW! This is really going to happen...
